Is it safe to take a bus from Jardin to Salento?

Two of us plan to take a day bus from Jardin to Salento around Christmas time. We are concerned about armed robbery after reading some blogs. But the other option of backtracking to Medellin, then flying to Armenia doesn't seem to save much time. Any information from anyone who traveled there recently would be appreciated.

There are also two routes as follows by bus. Which one has better road condition?
Jardin - Supia - Pereira - Salento
Jardin - Rio Sucio - Pereira - Salento

I've travelled the region on numerous occasions and have never come across or heard of anyone talking about armed hold ups. Whilst in the region I would recommend visiting Jerico also.

Be aware, Periera has only limited bus service to Salento. Armenia, an hour further south has much more frequent service.

I'm sure it can happen. Obviously, the thousands of travelers who experience safe trips in the coffee region don't take to tripadvisor to report the lack of incidents.

I agree with you the chance is very low, but it has very serious consequence if it does happen. There are other options than taking bus. I just booked one of the best rated B&B in Jardin. The host said it's general safe during the day time. They also provided a taxi quote as well.
