Good Salvador Hostal???

I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions or recs for a good/safe place for a lone female to stay while in Salvador. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

not sure what your budjet is but we stayed at hotel redfish which is about 10mins walk from the centre. it was around £50 double but also when we were in the city centre (pelourinho) we used to go to a bar which was right next to a hostel called artemis. you couldn't be better situated as it is in the middle of everything: bars, nightlife, places where you can e.mail home etc. they have a website www.artemishotel.com.br which show singles at around £10-12
