Exit stamp

Country forums / South America / Colombia

I'm in Bogota and flying to Quito 30 days into a 60 day visa. Do I need an exit stamp from DAS in Bogota first or do I just go to the airport?

I'm no expert and might be wrong, but I never had to go to the DAS in the city before I left the country, and that was leaving about 30 days into a 60 visa as well. However, I did have to queue up for something in the airport itself before I was allowed into the check-in line. This could have been the stamp of which you speak, but I really can't remember to be sure.

You get your Visa when you landed. If you go to Quito your are leaving the country. The DAS officer at Eldorado will stamp your passport. Just go to the airport.

You get one at the airport when you check in. Before they give you your boarding pass, you will need to go to the office and pay, return with the visa and receive your boarding pass.

As far as the amount of the fee, I am confused about it as I have paid many different fees. It is dependant on the airline and I have been told, the amount of time you have spent in the country.

We toured Colombia for 15 days in January. When we left the AA agent at Eldorado Airport told us to go to the stall nearby to get the exemption stamp. Perhaps we stayed only two weeks we didn't have to pay the departure fee. But that's different than the DAS stamp on your passport.

you just get your stamp at the airport.

if I read the airport website correctly then there are two fees:

28$ international airport tax
19$ revenue stamp for colombians or visitors that have stayed for more than 2 months

If you fly American Airlines I believe the departure tax is included in the fares when you bought the ticket. We did not pay the departure tax at El Dorado.
