Consider an antarctic cruise ship where you will only be alone if you choose to

Honestly every country has cool stuff to do. I would personally just base it on the plane ticket prices, especially flying around Christmas, maybe see what cities you can get reasonably priced tickets for and that will narrow down your options. Also knowing if you like big cities, hiking, outdoor adventures, nightlife, seeing animals in the jungle, etc - might effect the recommendations you get too. Although most places have a bit of everything, so that's why I say look into flights to narrow your options.

Christmas, every SA country is great. For New Years choose Rio in Brazil if you're rich, or if not choose Ecuador for New Years.

I hear S.A. is a rather big place with a wide variety of cultures and activities. You have given absolutely no information about what you want from your holiday season, so there's not much anybody can do to help you.

Pick up a guidebook, browse the internet, or inform yourself in whatever other way you please about the various countries and cities on the continent. It's summer/rain season on most of the continent. That could be a factor in your choice.
