Bus from Santiago to Buenos Aires

I am looking for information regarding the bus from Santiago to Buenos Aires. What bus do we take? Cost of one way ticket? Is there a particular schedule? There are 4 of us and we need to book the right bus for comfort.

There is more than one line doing this run so more than one bus per day, lots of selection.

It is a long way, about 24 hours in total. I would recommend going Santiago to Mendoza in the day time, spend the night and continue on to BA next day. Paso Los Libertadores over the Andes is an interesting run and a shame to go over at night. Ab out 6 to 7 hours with customs.

Mendoza to BA is boring, about 17 hours.

Cama class is about $100 one way and semi cama (partial reclining) about $90. There may be cheaper classes, not recommended. I would spend the extra and get the best.

Splitting the trip may cost a bit more.

If bought way in advance you can get a one way Sky air ticket for $80, bought a few weeks before $130 if you are lucky.

THank you for your reply but we really would like to travel by bus across the Andes. Therefore we are interest only how to arrange this mode of transportation.. Again , thank you.

A few years ago there were many bus companies going from Santiago to Mendoza, a most beautiful bus trip, and to top it all, the prices varied for the same seat class. Basic reclining seat was very reasonable and in my opinion comfortable enough. Sorry, do not recall actual cost. Be careful with the lower price hotels in Mendoza, a window A/C blower may make noise but may not cool.

Good to know this web site...but I did not see any difference in prices. I will assume Special Deals are posted at the last minute!
