Looking at Doing Peru and Bolvia over 4 weeks over Christmas.

Never been south America, so open to any assistance such as best way round and most reasonable from London.

what to do and miss out.

Looking forward to meeting a load of legends along the way. :)

Rain season, overcast skies, not the good season for the Andes neither the Amazon basin.

We got around by bus and a few flights. We had a month for just Peru (and 6.5 weeks in Bolivia). Are you flying to Lima and out of La Paz? Maybe: Lima, Arequipa and Colca Canyon, Cusco/Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca in Peru or Bolivia, La Paz, Sucre, Potosi, Tupiza, 4 day jeep tour to Uyuni.

True it's not a good time for trekking the high Andes, Dec-Jan. But there's no problem visiting Machu Picchu, Uyuni salt flats, Lake Titicaca, the Colca canyon, the high jungle in Bolivia, and many other places. I've been through both countries in Dec-Jan and I thought it was great.

The best plan is fly into Lima, and fly home out of La Paz, or the other way around.
