4 weeks in Argentina with a 7month old babyCountry forums / South America / Argentina
My wife and I are contemplating spending part of our joint parental leave in Argentina in March. We're likely to limit our stay to at most 3-4 different spots, including BA. We are primarily interested in (modest) hiking, nature & good food/wines. Keeping in mind the practical limitations of travelling with a 7-month old:
I suggest Bariloche. I was there at the end of March and there were lots of families, babies included, hiking without problems, just the baby in a kind of carrier on their backs. Since they get so many families, the restaurants were really accommodating to people with kids....really attentive. | 1
i'm planning a 3-week-trip to Argentina with a 1-year-old son in October. Can give you some useful information later. | 2
I would go for El Chalten for hiking. Take a direct flight to Calafate from BA. The scenery around El Chalten is much more impressive than Bariloche. There are very good dayhikes to from the small town of El Chalten and the Perito Moreno glaciar near calafate is definatly a must - see. | 3
If you click on the link below, it will take you to a message posted on June 3 that asked about apartment rentals. Within the replies is my own, in which I gave links to three apartment rental agencies. | 4
