Peru

Hi all,
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Peru January 14-22...yes, 8 days is a short trip for Peru, and I know we won't be able to see everything we may want to see, but it's all the time I can take from work.

Here is the itinerary that we have in mind, but are open to suggestions!
Day 1: Lima
Day 2: Cusco
Day 3: Machu Picchu
Day 4: Cusco
Day 5-7: Iquitos/Amazon
Day 8: Lima

Is it crazy? Impossible?
We are used to squeezing a lot into a trip, but also don't want to go too fast that we don't get a…

like to stay in areas of sites and places of interest not to mention shops and eateries.

Is San Blas this area or are there better areas? we like a good night sleep so noisy areas with loud bars want to avoid.

we need to get from Cusco to Huanuco next month. Does anyone have any advice about routes we could take, good bus/airline companies and an idea of costs? We are not restricted by time but don't want to spend too much and also want to be safe! Thanks :)

We are a couple in our 50s , planing a stay of 4 nights in Puerto Maldonado, September 2018.
As far as I can see there are two options for stay:
1. The major one - Sandoval lake ~10km east to Puerto Maldonado
2. Sachavacayoc Center/Condenado Lake/Chuncho Clay lick - I really don't know the exact name, so I will cal it Sachavacayoc . It is ~50km south-west Puerto Maldonado.

I have a few wonders:
1. I wonder whether to take the 4 nights only in one place or maybe to divide it to the two…

My boyfriend and I will visit Peru in May and we plan to do the trek to Choquequirao and visit Machu Picchu by train. In which order should we do them? First visit MP and then do the trek to Choquequirao? Or first do the trek and afterwards visit MP?

I am going to arrive in Lima at midnight of 12/25... I am wondering if any places, such as money exchange, stores to get a SIM card, are still open at the airport. Also, at this very late time, how can I get to my hostel? Is it possible to find a Uber at the midnight of Christmas day?

Looking to trek the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with some friends in June, July, or August! A few broad questions!

-- Best of those three months to go in terms of weather?
-- Best trekking companies to use?
-- Must have items to pack?

I am traveling from San Francisco to Peru for the holiday season and I've a confirmed itinerary (as below):
12/25 AM : Land in Lima
12/25 PM : Flying to Cusco
12/25 - 12/28 : Cusco / Machu Picchu
12/28 PM - 1/2 : Lima
