Hola a todos
I will be in Arica in the north of Chile on the morning of the 16th, and would ideally like to make it to Cuzco by the morning of the 17th. Anyone know the best and least expensive way to do that. I had heard that cruz del sur had buses but their website says no. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....Gracias...
Hi All
Does anyone know if its possible to explore the Paracas National Reserve without a tour operator? We´ve done a few tours and, although they´ve mostly been good, we´d really like to do some exploring on our own at our own pace. Is it possible to enter the park without a tour guide? Does it cost anything? Is it worth doing without a guide and transport ie. are the distances too great to see much on foot, or are places too inexcessible without a boat?
If this is not possible, can anyone…
I wanted to resurrect a post about Lan flights
"I'm also checking prices for that flight and someone on this board adviced on buying through LAN's site selecting Peru as your country of residence (quotes $120 US round trip including taxes) whereas if you select any other country the airfare is $230 USD. The BIG question is, does that really work? I'm thinking that once you arrive at the check-in counter and they realize you're not a Peruvian resident you might face problems, at least you would…
Hi, I'm doing the Peru panorama plus tour with GAP adventures on June 11, just wondering if there was anyone out there going on that tour as well?? I know that the whole tour is completely full. I have posted on GAP's new forum "Watering hole", where there is a "departure lounge" that is purely for the purpose of meeting people before you go, but because its only new, ppl who have previously booked may not have seen it, hence the reason I am posting on here. I'm travelling by myself, so it'd be…
Need advice please on recommended bus service from Puno or Juliaca to Cusco. We are thinking about taking a 2 day tour of Lake T with an overnight in Copacabana. Any advice on this please. Also, recommendations on where to stay in Cusco or Lima greatly appreciated. I want to thank all of you for helping us plan wonderful trips over the years.
We arrive in Cuzco early on Thursday 12th July and plan to go to Paucartambo on the Saturday for the big festival then on to see the sunrise at Tres Cruces on Sunday morning. Is it possible to arrange any accomodation in Paucartambo through a tour agency in Cuzco?
Also we would like to stay at one of the lodges near Tres Cruces, either Cock of the Rock or Manu Cloud Forest Lodge on the Sunday night. Ultimately, I would like to find a way down to the jungle without paying the $350 from Cuzco one…
I will be going to Peru in July and understand that the train from Cuzco to Machu Pichu needs to be booked in advance. If we plan on catching the train in Ollantaytambo, do we still need to book ahead? Is it even possible to do so if it is not a tourist train? Thanks
In July, my husband and I are going to Peru for 3 weeks. We will fly straight from Lima to Cuzco and then follow the Gringo TRail up the Sacred Valley and then on to Puno. From everything I've read so far, it seems that robbery is really common from pickpocketing to pack theft. I'm trying to think of any way to thwart robbers. Our biggest concern is having my husband's Parkinson's medications stolen though I think we shall each carry a 3 week supply in case something happens. My other precious…
Doesn't it cost about $11 for a taxi ride from the Lima Airport to Miraflores? Is that $11 per taxi cab or per person? Thanks! Sorry i'm asking such a cheap-o question- i finished school w/ tons of debt.
What are the pros and cons of each place?
I'm particularly interested in swimming (not surfing), so good weather and nice water are important, feeling safe (as a female alone), and not being in a really touristy area.
Thanks!
