You guys get Yellow Fever and Rabies jabs before going to Peru?? Happy to get the yellow fever although its £50. £80 for rabies, was going to skip that. Any nightmare stories of people getting bitten?

Has anyone done this route during their travels? Is it possible and does anyone have any advice at all? I think a bus is an option but that is about all the information I have been able to lay my hands on.

I'm thinking of travelling from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado in the dry season (July) by bus. The guide books describe it as an atrocious road, and a three-day journey by truck. Has anyone done this journey and lived to tell the tale? Everyone else seems to have flown...
Is it worth the time spent and the money saved - is the scenery amazing? Is the road really that nasty?

I am gonna be in Lima for work until Thursday morning, and doing a search in TT I couldn't find any tips on this subject.

Any recommendation of good bars/places to hang out in Lima during weekdays?? I am in Miraflores, but not in a hostel, so I don't have nobody to ask (receptionist will tell me expensive executive bars -not my type- and taxi drivers only hookers bars!!)

I am planning to do the Inca Trail in a few weeks and haven´t booked anything yet! Am now having people scare me that I will be too late to do it. Can anyone suggest a good company to do it through and any other tips for doing it. I am travelling alone and so want to be sure of going with a reputable company even if it costs me more.
