Some days ago a TT member asked me to give examples of very interesting places in Peru not mentioned or unfairly little mentioned by LP. I will mention some of them without indicating routes, but will write about how to go if someone want more reference.
1. Inca trail of Huancabamba, Piura, Perú.
2. Inca ruins of Aypate, Piura.
3. Natural landscape around the town of Sócota, in Cajamarca.
4. The high zone of Zaña river, in Lambayeque.
5. Inca Trail between Huari and Yauya, Ancash.
6. The Yarowilca zone of Huanuco.
7. The road from Callejon de Conchucos in Ancash to Tantamayo in Huanuco, crossing Marañon river.
8. The towns of Huasta and Aquia, close to Chiquian in Ancash.
9. The ruins of Yayno in Ancash.
10. Las Shicras, a recently discovered 5000 years old place in Huaral, Lima.
11. The old (maybe pre inca) terracing system around Huangascar, Lima.
12. One of the very much places called Inca Wasi, this in Huancavelica, not so far from Huaytará
13. The cultural traditions of the Chopkja zone in Huancavelica.
14. The strange case of a 5th century bell from Europe in a colonial church in Ambar, Lima.
15. The colors and landscapes in The Potato Park, in Cusco. (Yes, in Cusco, not so far from Pisac).
16. The route from Palpa in Ica to Huachuas in Ayacucho, and the ruins of Pacapaccari in that route.
17. The scissors' dance festival in Andamarca, Ayacucho.
18. The geisers of Chipao, in Ayacucho.
19. The landscape around Antacoto lagoon, in Lima
20. The Morón Oasis in the desert of Ica
21. The "pockmarks avenue" also known in spanish as "Las viruelas" around the Montesierpe zone in the road from Pisco to Ayacucho.
22. The horse riding route from Huaros to Cordillera de La Viuda, in Lima.
23. The route going from Junin to Huancavelica through the towns of Pucará, Marcavalle and Concepción.
24. The colonial church in Ayaviri, Puno.
25. Pomata, "philosophical balcony of South America", name given to this town in Puno by its inhabitants, who own special ways to express their points of view about life and universe.
26. The Ulcumayo river zone, Junin.
27. Visits to Apurimac river beginning in Curahuasi, Apurimac.
28. The old town of Quequeña, in Arequipa.
29. Historic center of Moquegua City, and the countryside of this city where the best picos of Peru are produced.
30. Megatherium burrows carved in the hills close to San Lorenzo de Escomarca, andes of Lima.
And if my peruvian TT fellows add some more places, we'll see that the list is very big.....

great post, bad hiker. thanks for your contribution to the TT lately. I have visited about 8 of these places and absolutely LOVED them. I ll copy the rest of them for one of my next trips.

Asking you to tell more about all those places might be taking slighly too much advantage of you, but I'd really appreciate it if you'd tell more about Aypate, Yayno and Las Shicras.
