Hello,
I can't believe it, it's already full for the inca trail in August, we were looking to hike the inca trail starting at August 27-28 or 29, and all permits are gone for August already, unbelievable.... So, we were wondering, what is the other best trek for a 4days/nights only, ending at Machu Picchu. And, since we don't need a permit for this other trek, do we need to book in advance or should we wait to be there...
Any suggestions folks??? Or, can you do a 4 days horse back riding trip, ending at Machu Picchu??? That could be cool...
Thanks
Alex

if no trail, doing the cheap route to Machu Pichu via Ollantaytambo, Chaullay, Santa Teresa and Carrilluchayoc bridge will let you see a different zone of Cusco.

I am sorry that it is booked, not to brag but it is an amazing hike. you can also take the train to aguascaliente and then take the bus up. Also when I was done with the hike we met a man that lived in the small village taht told us about another spirtual hike close by, so may be when you ge there you can ask around. He owns a jewerly shop and then shop is right by the entrance of the hot springs on the left hand side, also right next to the hostel we stayed in.
