Looking to trek the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu with some friends in June, July, or August! A few broad questions!

-- Best of those three months to go in terms of weather?
-- Best trekking companies to use?
-- Must have items to pack?

Just curious would love to hear feedback from anyone who has done this trek!!

Hi, in this months the weather is similar but would be fine visit Cusco during holidays because are more empty the citadel. Bring a good trekking shoes and if it's new shoes is better walking with themm. The waterproof is so important too, visitng in rainy season or not you have to bring that. Is better you get your own sleeping because is expensive with the agency package. :)

Anything else I should purchase in order to get there? I dont really want to go through a company to do the trek. Know any good websites with information, maps, etc?
