Hello!

I'm travelling to Peru in March 2017 and want to hike to Machu Picchu. Do i need to book it in advance or can i wait to i get a bit closer? I'm not too sure on exactly what dates I'm going to be there yet, that's why it would be easier to wait to i get a bit closer to the month. Would it be wise to wait until January to book something?

Thanks in advance!

If you want the Inca trail, you need to book that 4-5 months in advance. Similar Andes treks with different routes and different names (Salkantay, Lares, etc.) can be booked at the last minute from Cusco. If you plan to go to MP independently and just see the archaeological site, you need to book your entrance tickets a couple weeks in advance, and you should buy your train tickets a bit in advance too.
