Hola!
Fit couple looking for recommendations on a tour guide that can join us with some like-minded/ fitness-level trekkers departing Cusco on April 11 for the alternate trek to Machu Picchu, > Inca Quarry / Cachicata 3 day / 2 night trek. I have found a handful of operators that offer this trip, but not one who will pair us with a small group. We want to meet some travelers along the way! Any recommendations on a guide that will pair a duo with a group or better yet—fellow trekkers that are looking to hike at this time. Thanks all!

Walked up to Quarry on my own, but while finding the Inca Wheel, I only found one of the caves with a skeleton. If you d find the other eight caves, please report back, Also I Did not find the needles

Hi,
If you are still looking and flexible, we are looking to hike Salkantay Trail leaving April 8th and returning the 11th (4 days 3 nights) ecotrek will take smaller groups for a pretty cheap fee. We are a very fit mother/daughter, might hike twice as fast as the average hiker. Also considering hiking this without a guide, but a lot of unknowns for our rigid schedule (we fly out the 12th).

Highly suggest you consider chewing coca leaves for altitude and for strength. Must use the catalyst with the leaves--lime paste or lime chalk that acts to release alkaloids. Don't get hungry and don't get tired. The altitude will kick your butt for a couple days!

I just got back from Peru, and was able to do a 4 day trek into Machu Picchu……First I will say it was incredible. Explore Adventures was an great company and our tour guide Ruben made this trek more memorable than I ever thought possible. We were provided with excellent service, great food, and superior camp conditions. Our guide also showed respect for all persons, and mother nature. He was caring, compassionate, encouraging and had good humour. Ruben also shared his extensive knowledge of inca history, archeology, and several botanical features along the trail. Our porters were valued as important members of the team, and our entire group (we had 9, but they will take smaller groups as well) was encouraged to work together as a family. I know you will love the incredible beauty and wonder that is present in every moment of this epic adventure.

Thanks for the advice! We are signed up with Ecopathtrek. I hope it all works out, haven't figured out where they'll meet us yet...and we only have 12 hours from Cusco arrival until the bus leaves.
