Not the good season at all. Not only rain, but also mud and possibly landslides. And very hot in the Apurimac Valley.

I hiked it in early march. It wasn't too bad. It was mighty hot down in the valley - so take plenty of cash to buy water at all the little campsites along the way. If it rains, it'll be muddy as hell. It rained on my last day there and hiking up out of the valley was an absolute mission.

Thank you for your advice. I talked to some agencies, they said that it´s really rainy. But I booked already :)
How was your experience and what should I take with me? Is there something you would recommend?

Best,
Linda

I want but don't have the money :) Choquequirao Trek is challenging but with the rainny season now is more strenuous. No doubt would be a fantastic tour and a mission to realize.

My boyfriend and I are looking to do Choquequirao around that time and are looking for a group to go with :) Through which agency did you book and how many days will you be trekking? We are already in Cusco now and would try to book the same trek. I would be great if you could let us know soon.

Hi Linda,
We just booked our trip before I got your message. Your planning was too tight for our flight back anyways though. Maybe we'll see you on the trek :)
Enjoy!
Best,
Miriam
