Chachapoyas to Moyobamba - best view

Travelling in that direction sitting on the right offers the best scenery. Though on a personal note, I would forget about travelling by bus and travel by combi instead. This will make the journey time shorter, you can get the front seat, enjoy the scenery en-route more and have the window down to take as many photo's as you wish.

Transport between Chachapoyas - Moyobamba / Tarapoto:

Turismo Selva is the leading company plying this region with combis. They depart from Chachapoyas at 06.30, 08.30, 10.30,12.30 and 14.30 hours; Moyobamba around 5 hours, 24 soles and Tarapoto 1h 50m further on, 35 soles. Also plying this route with combis is Amazonas Express who depart at 04.30 and 06.00 hours. Trans Evangelio has combis to Moyobamba for 20 soles departing at 04.30, 07.00, 10.00, 15.00 and 17.00 hours. These departure times and costs are from when I was there in April this year, so things may have changed. You can always reserve your seat the day before to guarantee that front window seat.

Thanks for info. I took a Tourism Selva van to Moyobamba. As it turns out, going to Moyo from Chachapoyas, the views were all on the left side of the bus, including the ride through Abra Patricia. Enjoyed the ride very much. Absolutely loved Reserva Tingana and Santa Elena as well (although the water was low at the latter river). Many monkey species in vast numbers.
