Hi,

Has anybody taken the cargo boat from Iquitos in Peru to Leticia in Colombia recently?

I want to check if this is possible/how frequently the boats generally go/ how long the journey takes/are there any complications at the border?

Many thanks,
Alicia

I've only used the fast boat between Iquitos and Leticia. But I know the slow boats go several times each week, some weeks even more frequently. Takes 3 days roughly.

In Leticia/Tabatinga, there is no border and no border formalities. People move between Peru, Colombia, Brazil freely. A visa is needed if you go further than Benjamin Constant town into Brazil, or if you fly out of one of the airports.
