I am planning a trip to Peru in the fall for 10 days and want to do two things: Machu Picchu and the Amazon. I recently climbed Kili in Tanzania and found a single very trustworthy person who arranged all of my lodging, pickups, dropoffs, and tours, and I would like to find the same thing in Peru. Does anyone know of a good company or person who can do the same for me on this trip? I will be traveling alone (28-yr old female) and I speak Spanish fluently, and I would like it to be on a shoestring budget if at all possible ($1000 or less for everything but airfare).

Thanks all!

Try Chaski Ventura Guides in Cusco.

Just got back from a week with them. Best guides I've had in S. America, West Africa or SE Asia.

Wow, if you call $1000 for 10 days a shoestring budget, I wanna know what kind of shoestrings you have! :-)
