Guys I just did the "alternative rainbow mountain tour" yesterday with an agency I found online (called exploorperu) and it was absolutely amazing!! I had to friends from Cali that did the regular tour to the Vinicunca mountain last year and they complained about the 3-hour hike and severe altitude problems that they had. In this "alternative" tour you only hike for like 45 minutes and then can already see multiple rainbow mountains (not just one!). My guide's name was Roger, a local guide from Cusco, and he was awesome! Breakfast and lunch (both very good) was included. I can only recommend considering the alternative if you're planning on seeing the rainbow mountains :)

Happy travelling peepz!

Wow, didn't know about this. Just found the normal trek in some other blogs and tripadvisor, great advise. Because I have some problems with my knee but really want to see that place as some friends of mine have been there last year and told me to go there. Interesting webpage, they offer quite some interesting activities and tours I can't even find over here or on Tripadvisor. Will have a deeper look into that, thanks!

Nice! Just looked it up and this article is very helpful. Didn't know about all those problems with the normal trek. I also like their web, have tons of activities I haven't find here or on Tripadvisor yet. Will look more into it as I'll travel there in June!

Sounds interesting, just read about the other mountain so far and this looks more tempting for now. How did you find out about them to make a bit of research.

I liked it a lot more, for sure! I found them first on trip advisor and then I googled their company..I ended up buying the alternative rainbow mountain tour and a cooking class on their site, both were very good!
