Is there a direct bus from Ica to Huancavelica, or I have to go from Ica to Ayacucho first?
I'm starting my way to Huancavelica from Arequipa, and trying to find the fastest way to do so.
thanks.

Expreso Oropeso reportedly does the route between Ica, Pisco and Huancavelica. I'm guessing you find them in the Ica bus terminal.

The Ica bus terminal is the place to go, if youre coming from the south. Ica is very user-friendly because all the bus companies are on the same block around the terminal, and there is a street with plenty of hotels nearby if you need to spend the night.

If youre coming from Lima, or missed the daily departure in Ica there is another and possibly faster option.
Get out at the "San Clemente" junction, 3km north of Pisco. Easy to reach from Lima with any southbound bus, or from Ica with any bus headed to Lima - I used Soyuz/PeruBus which goes down the coast with incredibly frequent departures, every 10 minutes or so.
San Clemente is the starting point of the "Carretera Libertadores" road into the mountains. About 1.5 hours away, that road splits in two branches that go either to Huancavelica (via Ticrapo/Castrovirreyna), or Ayacucho (via Huaytara).
At the San Clemente junction you can find combis and colectivos all day, that go to any destination on that road (Huaytara, Ayacucho or direct to Huancavelica). I've taken the trip from San Clemente to Huaytara to visit the Inca temple there. At that moment around 10 am, lots of combis were standing at the junction and shouting for passengers for each of the destinations including Huancavelica. Just ask "Huancavelica?" and everybody at the junction will direct you to the correct combis (look which one has the most passengers already- it will be the one to depart soonest). Morning departures are more advisable and fill up quicker than afternoon trips.
