Can anyone suggest a good Cotopaxi Natl Park hike with kids? The kids are ages 7-10 and pretty good hikers for their ages, but they're still kids. We've heard 3 ideas:
1) Around Laguna de Limpiopungo
2) From the road to the refugio and back
3) The paramo area on the SE side of the volcano
I welcome other suggestions as well. Which do you recommend and why?
We are staying at Hacienda El Porvenir and they will arrange a guide for the hike. (We will also take self-guided walks near the hacienda.) We…
Hi Guys
I will be in Quito next week to do a spanish course - Are there some single travellers who may like to meet up for a coffee and a chatt? I am a female solo travler, 37 years old. Would be great to hear from you, enjoy your travelling Chao
If you come to Banos I would highly recomend going through Adventure Ecuatorland. I have been in Banos for almost two weeks I am enjoying myself so much. I have gone river reafting 3 times through this company, as well as biking to amazing waterfalls, jumping off bridges, canyoning down 5 beautiful waterfalls, and have made some amazing new freinds along the way. The staff through this company have been very welcoming and are all great people. I felt very safe and secure in all my adventures…
Laguna Quilotoa and the South of Ecuador.
Well after my last post about Quito and Baños I feel I had better be a little less critical of Ecuador. Remember it is just my opinion.....
I decided after a few weeks in Quito that I needed some time out and wanted to see a little of the highlands of Ecuador. After checking out the map a journey down the Andes towards the Peruvian border seemed the right idea. I decided to use the South American Explores Club to plan my trip as they have a good…
I have tried to look, but can't seem to find this specific information about this little area.
1. Does the weekend train that goes to El Boliche continue further to Lasso, or does it stop there.
2. Is there trucks or busses that could be taken to get to Lasso or El Chaupi area, or the local accomodations in that general area?
3. Has anyone climbed the Ilinza Norte? How doable is it for a fit non climber? Can you leave belongings with the caretaker at the 'refuge' cabin?
Thanks and happy travels…
I have the chance of a sabbatical from work next year and I want to study spanish in Ecuador. I've found a web site of a spanish school on the internet that I like the look of called Simon Bolivar school. Has anyone been to this school and if so what was your experience?
I need to find a language school in Quito that can give me basic (tourist) language instruction in one week, with home stay option.
If you can recommend one or advise of any not to use, it would be much appreciated.
Advance thanks
