Hi all,
I am thinking about going out to the Santa Lucia reserve in the cloudforest in the Pichincha region of Ecuador for a few weeks in december, to volunteer on a conservation/re-forestation project. I was wondering if anyone has been to this area during december and if so...does it rain the whole time and is the visibility terrible? There seems little point in going if it will be pouring with rain and covered in mist the entire time, and maybe more beneficial to go at a time when the weather is better for working...can anyone advise here? Also, what are the temperatures like during december, is it very hot during the days? Would really appreciate any info...
Cheers,
Freya

I just finished volunteering there and absolutely loved it. You need to go. It is starting to rain there, but I think it would still be worth going. The staff there is amazing and it is a great place to practice your spanish. Again no idea about the weather in December, but the place is wonderful.
