I will be volunteering in Ambato in March and would like to see a sloth sanctuary/reserve if there is one close by. I won't have a lot of time but if it's possible I'd like to fit it in. Anyone dialed in to the sloth ecotourism situation around there?

Thanks.

There are a few wildlife centers in and around Puyo, which is about 2 1/2 hours from Ambato.

There are a lot of work with monkeys on that area. but sloths i havent really heard. I saw sloths in the jungle, at the Cuyabeno Reserve in a 5 day trip that i did there. But we just saw them as part of one of the day excursions.

Yanacocha and Paseo de los Monos work more with monkeys, but maybe you can try to find out with them.

Good luck!
