I used to work (15+ years ago) for a car shipping company and then for steamship agencies, so here's some advice.
First of all, you'll need to own the vehicle and have the car title.
The original title, plus several photo copies, a copy of the export declaration (with the appropriate booking information) must be presented to US Customs. Customs verifies the car has not been stolen or reported missing (etc) and other information. They then perforate the copies of the title and the ex-dec and return them with the original title. A car cannot be exported without this. It has to be presented to the shipping line or they won't load the container on the ship.
There are a number of companies that now offer that service (some have gone out of business) and the fees for their services will vary.
Most ships call Guayaquil. Yes, it doesn't appear to be on the coast; it is, in fact up a river.
"Home to the country's manufacturing and fishing industries, the Port of Guayaquil handles almost all of Ecuador's imports and half of its exports. The Port of Guayaquil is the country's economic center"
BUT...in looking for the companies that call Guayaquil direct, I came across this post...it's older, but sounds like very good advice:

You might also want to read the info here (it's a shipping company so they'll want to sell you their service...)

Here's US Customs advice and guidance:

I'm retired from the shipping industry now but if you want to send me a PM I can provide a list of companies that I know to be reputable...there are a lot of companies that advertise they ship cars but when it comes down to the actual work, they use another company so you can end up paying more.
Good luck.
