Hey,
I will be in Quito for the entire month of january. I would like to take a week end trip into The southern part of Colombia during my stay in Quito. Any good ideas on where I should stay and what there is to do in southern Colombia. Dont want to go to far because I need to be back in Quito Monday morning.

Hi Daniel,
You must go to otavalo and see the market and many crafts, The countryside is also beautiful. From there head north to Tulcan and see the amazing cemetery. Well worth many photos. Cypress trees cut in all shapes of animals,mask,geometric, etc. about 20 acres worth. Then cross the border and see the pilgrimage shrines of Cathedral Las Lajas in Ipiales. If you go farther north to Paso. Amazing ride. Active volcano and local crafts of mopa mopa only spot in the world for this. Stay at a hostel, Koala Inn. Oscar is the owner and speaks many languages and can give more details.
