hi all,
I was thinking to go to Manta for learning spanish and surfing...I´ve reading previuos post and it seems many of you have done the same in recent times...Could you give me any hint? How is to live there for a couple of months?
Thanks

Hola tedoo-
I´m actually just finishing up my last of 4 weeks of classes in Manta at the Academia Surpacifico. To my knowledge, this is the only spanish school in Manta but I´m not completely sure about that. The experience has been overwhelmingly positive and the guy who runs the school (Manuel) is truly awesome. He´s very efficient and friendly and is a partner in other schools around the country.
No, I´m not at all affiliated...just giving my opinion. I wrote a complete review here on my blog: http://blogs.bootsnall.com/Stacey11/<BR>(under Trip Info and under the post: Review Ecuador - Academia Surpacifico.
Manta itself is not all that happening though the beach area is nice. There are some interesting daytrips nearby. Be sure to head to Crucita for ideal paragliding conditions and a sleepy little fishing/beach town.
Good luck, Stacey
