Dear Users,

My partner and I are travelling in South America from 1st May (when we land in Santiago) until 15th August (when we fly out of Bogota.

In order to avoid ping ponging all over the continent we'd like to visit the Galapagos towards the end of our trip, so around July. I'm aware this is the peak season and I've read mixed reports on the availability of last minute deals during this time. Can anyone give me an idea of the likelihood of finding a last minute Galapagos cruise in July?

In all likelihood, you will be able to find a cruise, but not necessarily on a boat you'd want to sail on. I highly recommend you research boats and itineraries so you know what you're getting into when you find an attractive price.

My gf and I are also planning a similar trip to you, also taking about 3 months. Was just wondering what your budget is for the 2 of you. We are in the initial planning phase and it's a bit daunting trying to estimate a budget.
