Hello To All,
I have a special family that I have kind of adopted in ( Illuman ) Otavalo. There are 13 living in one room but very happy. The son Julio is teaching himself English. He is a wonderful, nice young guy that wants to learn. Anyways, he would like some books in English. He loves to read and any level would be fine. He would like some of the classics. I cannot ship because it is to expensive. If you can take or have some books to give him he could meet you in Otavalo. He does go to school until about 3:00 pm. Best time to telephone him is 8:30--9:30 pm. He also would be happy to tell you about the area or show you around. He is a little shy at first but will go all out for you. Just say his American Mother sent you. He doesn't have any money for a lot of extra transportation. The family speaks the native language so if you want to learn they could teach you. Please help---it would be wonderful. Julio's telephone number is 993111329 and his e-mail is
juliopillajoanrango@hotmail.com The world is a better place with helping just one person at a time. It does make a difference. In advance, I thank you and can't wait to hear from him with good news.
My Best To All--May your journey take you far.
Patricia

Thank All Of You for looking at the post. Someone telephoned Julio and tried to ask him questions about school. Well, there was a problem. He could not hear well and he was with friends having Carnival where they all throw water on each other. So he didn't say much and didn't get your name or e-mail address. He wrote to me and felt very bad and I scolded him. So now he is hurt and sad. Who ever called would you now call him at 593 994621781 or send him a e-mail. You can always contact me for information. Patricia nonsense@aol.com just put in the subject line Julio so I will know. Many thanks to all.
My Best

I teach English as a Second Language in California, and I use the Internet frequently for worksheets, vocabulary lists, etc. Since he has an e-mail address, he must have access to a computer. If you have him Google ESL, he'll find a wealth of quizzes, vocabulary sheets, listening activities, etc. etc. etc. The students where I work find these things invaluable in their work at home or at the library (free computer time) if no computer at home.
Best of luck to him.
