Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience or opinion about visiting the Galapagos in late October beginning of November?
Are the seas generally cold and choppy at that time of year above any other time?
Also I've been having a look at Happy Gringo tours and they seem reasonably priced in comparison to Gap adventures does anyone have any experience of either of these companies or any other companies that offer a good tour.

Many thanks

Hi,

We´ve just been there and had a 8 day cruise on a catamaran. Beautiful, a great experience. We booked the tour there two days in advance, but don´t expect deals. We paid $ 960 p.p. but for the 6 days program (first day: enter the boat before dinneer, last day: leave the boat after breakfast). The sea was rough and I needed tablets (2 times a day; you can buy then in the city, $0.25 each). Snorkling is a big part of the deal so rent a full body suit in the city. It´s is definitly worth while.

We´ve also heard that many boats are in repair during October and November, so you don´t have many options. Also ask if your boat will leave also if there are only a couple of tourist on it. Sometimes they cancel the boat or put you onto another.

Good luck.

Thanks very much for your reply, do you recall the company you went with? and also as a catamaran would that be more choppy on the seas than a normal boat or not I'm wondering, did you feel the benefit of it being a catamaran or did it just feel like a normal boat?
