Hi there,
does anyone here have experience of volunteering with this organisation? or has anyone even heard anything about it?
http://www.fundecoipa.com/

thanks

I have been to the community called Arutam. It's a great little place. Didn't do any volunteering there myself, but a lot fo people I know have and they all had a great time.
It's the kind of place where life slows down, and you really get a chance to learn about the culture and the rainforest. I'd recommend it!

Hi Paul,
We only know what is available on their website but we're doing it anyway. We've booked in for two weeks starting 14 August and we'll stay longer if we enjoy it. It's not far from civilisation so I reckon it'll be easy to bail out if it turns out to be a nightmare.
After trawling through all the different volunteer opportunities, this one seemed the least commercial (as well as being cheaper) and some of the stuff they say they are trying to do interests me, such as Capybara farming. Obviously we wont find out until we get there how much of the website is fact and how much is wishful thinking.
When are you planning to be in Ecuador? Maybe the same time as us? If you will be going much later than us then I can let you know how it goes.
Good to hear (at least secondhand) that people have enjoyed it.
