**Hi Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions

**Suggestions on the cheapest/safest way to get from Airport to the South American Explorers Club?
What is a price to pay, so as not to get ripped off?

Highly suggested back packers or hostiles that are quiet/peaceful, safe and cheap?
I am a light sleeper unfortunately and I love to sleep in and prefer a room to myself.

i would email the club directly. if you're a member, they're sure to help you out and will have recommendations for transport and places to stay.

also, earplugs? i need to upgrade mine.

You have 3 main options from the airport.

The cheapest is the regular bus ($2) to Rio Coca and then a taxi from there to SAEC (about $3). Not recommended if you have much luggage.

The second is the airport express bus which will take you to the old airport ($8) and you can get a taxi to SAEC (about $5). It's a safer option, unless you are arriving at night, because the old airport area is a bit seedy after dark.

The 3rd is a taxi, it'll cost about $30 and take you straight there. You can buy a taxi coupon from the booth inside the airport. The prices are all posted so you won't get ripped off.

Bring ear plugs, Quito is not the place to look for somewhere quiet/peaceful.

In Ecuqdor, you can easily find a single room, with bathroom, hot water and TV, for 10 to 15 $, including in Quito. There is a group of cheap hotels up the hill near the San Blas Church.

Places in the colonial part of the city would be quieter than those in Mariscal .
