I just want to put this out there. I will be in the Central Highlands area from around Dec 2, 2007 to Jan 3, 2008. I am considering hiking to the top of Ilinizas Norte, some hikes around Cotopaxi or trekking in the area of Quilotoa Loop or Guaranda. I will be traveling alone, and some of these persuits are much better (safer) in small groups or pairs. I also could be talked into other adventures if someone had ideas and are also in my situation. Anyway, I would love to hear from anyone who will be in Ecuador during that time. Thanks in advance.

Get in contact with the South American Explorers Club in Quito as they may be able to put you in touch with other travellers who want to do the same thing as you.
