Hola

We are finishing our amazing 10 month RTW trip in Quito on 22/07 and are down to our last few pennies. We will be entering Ecuador from Peru around the 11th/12th after some hiking in Huarez.

We were thinking about hitting the beach for a week or so in an attempt to spend as little as possible, any suggestions for a chilled out and above all cheap location between the Peru border and Quito?

Thanks
Tiff

Didnt go - but have heard Mancora is a good place to chill very close to both borders... otherwise maybe the Ecuadorian coast, again not been, but heard Montanita is a good choice....

There is one little place called Isla Costa Rica. It is a great little fishing village of the coast, spitting distance of the border (if the wind is right). I just came back from there and had a tour of the mangroves, chilled at the beach, went fishing with the locals and had the best seafood. This is off the beaten track, and a little bit out there, but if you are looking for a good time and getting to know Ecuador, it is the place to be.

You will not find any information about this community online, but I would be happy to point you in the right direction.
Just send a PM and I will get you all the details.
