Hola!
I'm an 18 year old girl interested in doing volunteer teaching in Quito before Uni starts next year...I was wondering if anyone has done a similar programme or knows anyone who has, ccould I possibly ask a few questions by email...i'd rather have a first-hand account than rely on the (obviously) laudatory website...

Muchas gracias todos!

(oh- the company is called Travel-toTeach, if anyone's had experience)

I did some volunteering in Ecuador with www.movingecuador.com . Write them an email and see if they have anything for you.

I suggest you show up to Quito (Mariscal area) and find volunteer opportunities yourself. It is extremely easy to do with many flyers for organizations in internet cafe's and laundromats, or check out the South American Explorers Club for info.

Hello
Volunteerng is always fun and important, however keep in mind your interests and skills, this will make your V. time more enjoyable unless you really want to start from zero..
I´d suggest you make some coutry research 1st before jumping and commiting into a Volunteering job.

Getting a general idea on the country will make your mind on what areas, regions and places you would enjoy more the V work. jobs can vary from Wild zoo tasks, too Forest or Jungle conservation to Kids schooling or Hospital works.. etc. even religious and building works..

Traveling will give you a good insight before you start

as always If I can be of any help let me know!

Regards!!
