We want to go to the Galapagos any time from Dec 22nd onwards... We have a month to play around with. What is the possibility of 3 people picking up a last minute deal to go there at Christmas/NY's if we just walk the streets of Quito going into agencies there?
Are there any sites that anyone can recommend to get a good look at what is available without biased opinions? What are the traps or extras that I should be looking out for when shopping around?

Happy Gringo are a regular favourite on thorntree so you should check them out - www.happygringo.com. They have definately earnt their excellent reputation here.
I booked both Galapagos and jungle through them and found them to be very helpful, honest and professional throughout. All extras were explained clearly in advance so no hidden traps after booking.
I am guessing that Christmas will be very busy at Galapagos so last minute may not be the way to go. Best to shop around a bit and book something in advance.
