JUST A QUICK HEADS UP THAT THE BUS EXPRESSO INTERNATIONAL TP PERU DOES NOT LEAVE AT 2.30 PM AS STATED IN THE LONLEY PLANET IT LAVES AT 11.30 ANOTHER MISTAKE BUY THE SOUTH AMERICA ON A SHOE STRING ,THE CENTRAL AMERICAN BOOK WAS ALSO CRAP DID NOT EXPLAIN ABOUT THE 3 MOUNT VISA IN CENTRAL AMERICA I GUESS THE BOOKS ARE OLD HAY !!!

Things change, companies move or go out of business, and books cannot be updated constantly. Buses in S America are notorious for not leaving on time, it's part of the added interest value.

couldn't agree more with dave . . . lonely planet doesn't pretend to be perfect. it's a guide that gives you tools to travel with some eyes, but not with 20/20 vision.
i took the guayaquil-lima bus and yes, it does leave at 1130am now. but lonely planet also suggests in its general guidelines that going one day earlier to check the time is always a good idea, especially for such a long bus as this one. in any event, the actual name of the company is ormeno expresso international.
south america travel is all about rolling with the punches.
