How technically difficult is this ride? We have two kids, ages 12 and 14, and will be traveling in Ecuador in April with another family (also two kids ages 12 and 14). We would like to do the bike ride down Cotapaxi, but are a bit concerned about my daughter ( age 12), who really hasn't done a lot of mountain biking like the other 3 kids have. Will she be able to ride down? If the ride is too hard for her, one adult could just forgo the ride and stay with her, but certainly we'd all like to ride if we can....Another option: Is it possible for her to simply ride up AND down in the car, and meet us at the bottom? Will the company that drives you up do this? She can entertain herself just fine, if she needs to wait for us as we ride down... but is there a place for her to wait, and it safe for her ?
We're a pretty ambitious group, so if you have any other suggestions for adventures for us, we'd love to hear them. We'll only be in Ecuador for week, but we are especially interested in hiking and wildlife... Thanks!
