Hi,
I am interested in doing some volunteer work next year in either Medellín or Cartagena. I am an experienced teacher from the UK and speak reasonable Spanish (that I am looking to improve). Does anyone know of any projects involving children where my skills might be of use?
Thank you very much.
Hello all! I need some help...
I am planning to take a trip to Medellin for about 3 months by last minute. Very last minute. If anybody has info about cheap, but good hostels to stay at for the first week and a cheap apartment to stay at for the next three months, pleassse let me know! I'm not looking for anything classy, but I don't want to be in a dangerous neighborhood either. Thank you!!
can you recommend an hotel in La Candelaria. my budget is about 30,000 - $15. thanks
Hi
I'm flying out to Cali from London in October and staying there for 3-4 months, after which I'd like to travel round the rest of South America. As a UK / EU citizen, I know I can stay for up to 90 days in Colombia without a visa but I've read that you need to show a return ticket when you arrive.
As we were planning to fly into Colombia and then back from, say, Argentina ten months later, do we need to show details of our onward journey? How have other people got round without sticking too…
Hi all,
I'm traveling to Colombia a bit later this year and wanted to fly to Havana for 2 weeks around mid-november. I know it's a popular place to go for los colombianos and that flights are meant to be around US$700, the thing is that I can't find any airlines that make the trip from Bogota to Havana, i was wondering if someone could tell me how I could find this route and flights?
i would like to buy some music , especially old one, but because i don't know the colombian music i would like to listen in a shop before buying.
can somebody recommend a music shop in Bogota in which i can listen to the music.
thanks
I will be flying into Cali on 10 Sept. I looked on the Center For Disease Control Website & didn't find anything helpful
Malaria - should take meds if will be in rural areas below 800 meters.
Most of where I will be going (Eje Cafeteria, Cali, Medellin, Popoyan, Tierradentro, San Augustin, Bogota, etc) are well above this elevation. However, I've heard Villavicencio is at a lower elevation & it's not listed in the LP Book. I'm assuming since Cartegena is not rural, that this is not a potential…
hola,
i am curious if anyone knows of any work that a gringo might be able to find in colombia. i speak decent spanish and do not need pay, just food and a bed and i have no time limit. any help at all would be appreciated, and please dont mention me not using capitals. thanks!!
From an earlier post, I got the impression that I can eat pretty much anything while in Colombia (raw fruit, salads, etc.,) but that sticking to bottled water is probably a good idea.
A similar question relates to digestion issues. In my many months in Brasil, this was never an issue. However, when in Mexico, I noticed there were many "sanitarios publicos," and there was a very good reason for this. What are people's experiences who have travelled / lived in various parts of Colombia?
We would like to spend a few days in Popoyan and the surounding area. Should I fly directly there or fly to Cali and take the bus down. What airlines fly directly from Bogota to Popoyan? Avianca does not list a flight on their site.
Also is the bus ride from Popoyan to San Agustin really 7+ hours? Are they the typical chicken buses or do they have toilets? Is there an easier way to get there from Popoyan or should we instead go to Tierrandentro? What trip would be easier transport wise?
Thanks,
Jos…
