Colombia

I will be moving to Cartagena in October to work, and I would like to rent a studio, 1-bedroom apartment or small guest house for myself and my cat. I am looking for something inexpensive (around 300 dollars /month). I would prefer something close to the Centro Historico, or if that's not available for the price, in a nearby neighborhood. I speak fluent Spanish. Does anyone have suggestions?

I currently have and iPhone with ATT service in the US and will be moving to Colombia in September. What is the easiest and/or cheapest way to make the transition? Ideas about monthly cost?

I will need to get from Santa Marta to Medellin on August 21st and am wondering what you would recommend. My priority is safety, and I wonder if there is any concern with travelling once it is dark? Also, can anyone comment as to whether it is better to fly or take a bus?

at the end of august i will fly to Colombia for 23 nights. It is my first trip to Colombia my fourth in latin america. I speak some spanish.
At the moment i am planning where to go.
My plan so far:

Day 1-3 Bogota
Day 4 Villa de Leyva

Day 6-8 Salento and the Coffee Area

I have some days left. Should i add some days for a destination? The bus rides between the destinations are about 5-7 hours…

I've overstayed my 90 day visa by 8 days and am trying to find out if I can pay the fine at the border when I leave, or if it has to be paid at the Migracion Colombia office? I'm finding it hard to find this information anywhere.

I am planning on travelling to Ecuador via bus - does anyone have any experience in paying an overstay fine at the border? Or will they tell me I need to go to the Migracion Colombia office?

We were hoping to cross the border from Quito today to Cali and Pasto, via Ipiales. Our friend is there now and has mentioned there is a blockade - does anyone have any more info on this? Is it likely to open again tomorrow or are we best off looking at flights?

Other question: have anybody any expiriance with just going there and look for a tour in Leticia? I'm afraid to go there and there will be no options to group up or to join a group so as consequence I have to pay a lot..
