¡Hola amigos!

I am planning to go to Tayrona with my girlfriend. The Ecohabs look fantastic but are ridiculously expensive (COP $ 500,000 per night, for a puente). The cabanas look OK but overpriced (COP $ 330,000). I understand that those prices only include breakfast. Does anyone have any other recommendations for a nice cabana, somewhere chilled and a little bit romantic?

¡Muchissimas gracias!

best bet is to bring a tent im afraid. my experiences were all cabanas were very pricey. if you rent a tent or bring one iwth you its much less inexpensive and still quite ¨cozy¨.
good luck

Hola Amigo,
Your right, the ecohabs turned very costly. There is a campingsite in Cabo but with loud music so maybe not the best place to go on "honeymoon" I have been told that a new ecocamping will be opened shortly (octobre/november) where cheaper rooms will be rented less expensive. Just revise the internet in the coming weeks as they will launch their website soon (look in google for camping- Tayrona- environmental education).
Good luck, and have fun, Parque Tayrona is beautiful, and a good place to be with your love.....

I searched and could not find any reasonable bungalows in Tayrona Park either. So we are staying at the Azul Ballena in Tayona, and will drive to the park each day and pay a seperate fee each time. A bumber however to do this. But the Ballena looks nice.

i was at tayrona in cabo san juan, in the hammocks (right in the middle of everyone and where the restaurant and everything is) late last november and don't remember there being any loud music to keep me up - maybe i was just so exhausted i could sleep through anything? or maybe just different crowds have different ambiences and it's luck of the draw with music or none. having passed through the other areas of the park where you can stay, cabo san juan would definitely be my first choice (since i can't pay for an ecohab and in any case where the ecohabs are you can't even swim). just bring or rent a tent (not a leaky one, this was our bad luck in tayrona and the reason we ended up in hammocks the second night) and maybe a comfy air mattress to make it a bit more "romantic".
or stay in a nearby hotel, but i can't see the need for entering the park if you're planning on a cozy romantic weekend - you have to hike an hour and a half (after hopefully getting a shuttle to the cañaveral area) to get to cabo san juan, which is the most beautiful part of the park in my opinion. so that would take away at least 4 hours of your day just getting in and out, and if you're foreign you've got to pay about $20.000 pesos or more to get in.
don't forget your yellow fever certificates.
