Anybody recent information regarding safety and availability of the boat from Quibdo (Choco) to Turbo (Antioquia).
Other cool tips for Choco are welcome.

The body of water that passes Quibdo is the Atrato river. It empties into the Gulf of Uraba on the other side from Turbo so you would have to cross that body of water too. Traveling the whole length of the Atrato from Quibdo is an interesting idea but you would unquestionably be passing through swaths of guerrilla controlled areas.

Safety is not great - some of these communities are controlled by fringe groups rather than the government. A police officer was abducted while the boat was parked in one of the communities no so long ago.

The boats are regularly used by locals although I also know locals that go the long way round and take the bus through Medellin to avoid issues.
