Hi all,

I have been searching forums to find something quite recent on where to spend NYE but couldn't find anything recent hence this post.

My partner and I are sailing into Cartagena from Panama for xmas. So plan to stay there for a few days, then move on to Santa Marta. We are then stuck for where to go for NYE.

Do we go to Medellin? or do we go to Cali? Or do we stay in Santa Marta?

We are a couple in our late 20's but not massive party people, looking for a fun atmosphere where we can celebrate with the locals.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, even if they are not any of the options put forward above.

Thank you all :)

You can celebrate NYE in Cartagena, Santa Marta or Medellin, and I'm sure you'll have a great time. But this time of year, if in Colombia, you should plan to include a visit to Medellin to see the Festival of Lights, the most famous Xmas light show on the continent. The lights stay up until mid-January, I believe.

Amazing thank you! I have decided to just leave out Cali and just enjoy as much of the other places and not rush around.

And thank you for the advice, will deffo be checking out the Festival of Lights.
