Does the Medellin airport have a registered taxi service? If not, what is the best option for safe transport to the city late at night? Thanks

the airport of medellin is unfortunately VERY far out of the city centre. I believe I paid 45000 pesos to get to the centre by taxi, which is your only option at night.

Yes, the only way to get to Medellin from Jose Maria Berrio Airport is by taking a taxi. Since Rionegro (where the airport is located) is in the mountains you have to get down to the city, it takes between 30 to 45 minutes depending on where you are going.

How are you arriving there? If you are flying for eg from Bogota, then catch Satena and land right in the city - 4000 pesos to Poblado. If international then yeah, the airport is far, but they do have the ticket box where you book the taxi and the price in colombia.
