Hi, I was hoping for advice on visiting Leticia in April. Do high waters and rains take lots away from the experience? or is it worth it anyway?

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers,

Susie

Hi Susie,
It rains a lot in April so be prepeared for almost daily torrential downpours (I've been to Leticia in March and it rained a lot, it rains even more in April). Still you usually get at least a bit of sunshine at some point during the day. One advantage is that you can get much deeper into the jungle by boat as the streams carry a lot of water. If you're reasonably well prepared for the wet weather (and the cold nights) you can still enjoy and explore. PM me if you'd like some more info as I know the area well, heck, if the border situation with Venezuela becomes serious enough I might opt for Leticia instead of going to the Orinoco (another of my favorite areas).
