Gang drugging tourists currently operating in Jardin.
We had our food drugged in a restaurant.
Gang members waited for us outside.
Advise extreme caution.

First post, breathless tone, alarming tale but no details. Advise extreme caution.

I was thinking exactly the same.

What happened when you went outside?

No details ? Wonder why someone would make a fake post like this, if that's so. Weird.

Happy to post details now that we have left Jardin.

The restaurant was Mario - Pollos a la Brasa.
The toxin was scopolamine.
The attempts at robbery failed.

Some friendly locals first suggested we needed an ambulance.
We declined.
Then they insisted we got into a taxi.
Again we said no.
We walked 10 meters to a drugstore. They were very helpful.
My wife lost consciousness for a few seconds.
They put her into a recovery position.

It took almost an hour before she was able to walk home.
It took three days for the effects of the scopolamine to pass completely.

Jardin is an interesting place though. Lots of inbreeding obviously. But interesting.

That is one crazy story indeed. Man, good thing you made some right choices...do you think everyone is on this?

I do not think everyone " is on this ".
I do think it's shortsighted for a remote town that is promoting tourism to leave themselves open to bad publicity across a range of channels by poisoning foreigners.

Ah it's the town's fault? Yes, I see the dark hand of a top level conspiracy at play.
