Can anybody tell me how far the Emabassy Suites in Bogota is from Cristobal Colon Theater, Gold Museum, National Palace, and if it is within walking distance is it safe to walk. Likewise the Hotel De La Opera from the above attractions. Thank you.

Don´t know these hotels, but bogota is pretty safe these days, especially during the day, when it is crowded with people. You can pretty much walk from most (normal touristy areas) to the others without problems at all. Less problems than in most SA cities. Or take a cab - they are not expensive !

Hi, the hotel de la opera is next to plaza bolivar so it is very centrally located. the hotel is really nice and has also a nice restaurant.

The Embassy Suites is located in a very safe and nice area. It is kind of close to the places you mention, but it is not walking distance. It is about 60 or 70 blocks away from Plaza de Bolivar. The walk is safe, but you should take the normal precautions you would take anywhere in a big city. Avoid to do the walk at night, especially the part in the centre of the city, because the are around your hotel is ok. You can either do the long walk, take a taxi for about 10 000 due to traffic or maybe take a bus with the sign Germania in it and ask the driver where to get off for museo del oro.
