whats the cheapest way of getting from Santa marta colombia to Maracaibo and how long it takes?

I did this last week. Got a bus from the terminal at Santa Marta to the Colombian border for about 20,000 pesos and then a collectivo from the bus station to Maricaibo for about 10,000 pesos (maybe less). We needed to pay the Collectivo drivers ever now and then so they could bribe the Venezuelan border guards/police not to spend ages looking through our luggage - but even so it was pretty cheap....
