Hi guys,

I am going to be visiting Colombia next week. My intention was to go to Cano Cristales, because I thought this was the best season, but now I read in the earlier posts that July/August was the best? Is it still worth going there now? In October?
Also - I am having difficulty figuring out timing as I will be flying into Bogota Saturday morning and need to organize the flight to La Macarena so that I can go on the hike to Cano Cristales. I do not want to buy a tour here because it is so much more expensive, is that a good idea? or should I buy from home?
Any recommendations as far as how long I should do the tour? because flights back to Bogata are so infrequent and I only have 10 days total in Colombia.
Sat morning - arrive in Bogota
need to get to Cano Cristales
going to Tagenga at some point
Monday ( a week and two days later) I fly back home.
thank you so much!

Marina

Hola.
We are now in Colmbia (my partner is from Bogotá) and have travelled to many places in colmbia.
We had been enquiring about Caño Cristales and wrote useful infos on our blog to help tindependent travellers... in spanish but you can translate...
It´s expensive and for what you pay worth staying at leat 3 days...
Just for a 10 days trip in colOmbia I don´t recommend going there... and more now out of season...
too short time for the rest and it will take energy and money...
Enjoy Colombia!
