No problems, did it in reverse, but as guyfromrio says wrap up warm (I had thermal, jumper and fleece on and was freezing!)

I took the night bus on this route about 8 months ago and it took much longer than the corressponding bus during the day. An extra 9 hours altogether because of a break down and the change in route. I think they take a different route at night but maybe someone else has more up to date info.

the bus from medellin to cartagena is very safe ...the road is long but you can know different and beautiful places.
